This week, Richard is enjoying the opening events for the Golden Kite: Golden Dream exhibit at the National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature (NCCIL) in Abilene, Texas. Richard and Barbara McClintock did a tag-team talk and drawing demo Thursday evening.
Join the festivities and presentations. Special speakers and guests during the opening events include: Pat Cummings, Cecilia Yung, Barbara McClintock, Diane Stanley, Larry Day, Kristen Balouch, Priscilla Burris, Alan Stacy, Richard Jesse Watson, and exhibit curator, David Diaz. Lin Oliver and Steve Mooser, founding members of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), will also be there to talk about SCBWI and the Golden Kite award.
Come see the exhibit of original art celebrating over thirty years of art from SCBWI's Golden Kite Awards. If you can't make it to Abilene by October 2010, you may still catch the exhibit in your area, while it's on tour at various museums around the country.
